The Beretta M92F along with the SIG Sauer P226 were the two finalists in the US Army’s XM9 combat pistol trials to find a replacement for the venerable M1911A1, the M92F only won out in the end because of it’s slightly cheaper overall cost; which is a true testament to the P226’s design. It has since been adopted by hundreds of military and law enforcement agencies around the world; one of the most famous examples of this is that the P226 pistol has been adopted as the official sidearm for the US Navy SEALs. This particular replica is based on the slightly modified P226 version, the P226 Rail; this version as the name suggests includes an integral rail allowing many different accessories to be mounted quickly and securely to this handgun. Tokyo Marui also went the extra mile and added a hidden standard safety, which the real SIG Sauer P226 does not have, this standard safety is hidden as part of the disassembly leaver. The leaver itself is still fully functional offering a quick and realistic takedown process, perfect for regular maintenance. The fixed sights feature the white 3-dotted system which allows for quick target acquisition and accurate aiming even in low light conditions. The grips are also very nice, they feature realistic P226 markings and are made out of a non-slip textured material with a slightly rubberised feel, which makes the pistol very easy and comfortable to use.

The included magazine is the new chrome effect P226 magazine to accompany this chrome P226 pistol. Just like the pistol it features an impressive and extremely realistic chrome finish, it is one of the best chrome effect finishes we have seen on an Airsoft product. Holding 25 BB’s in a dual stack arrangement gives you plenty of rounds and as this magazine is made almost entirely of metal it gives the pistol the correct weight distribution when inserted. It also replicates the size and shape of the standard 15 round 9mm SIG Sauer P226 magazine, which adds to the overall realism.
