The WE Full Metal M1911A1 Colt Government gas blow back pistol is a high quality but affordable full metal replica of the very famous M1911A1 Colt Government, offering superb value for money. This pistol features great performance, accepts Green Gas out of the box, has a variable Hop-Up, a high quality fully metal slide, barrel, frame and all of the controls are also metal. In fact the only non-metal external parts are the plastic replica wood grips. All of the metal parts are nicely finished in a realistic and appealing grey which replicates the parkerized finish found on real M1911A1 pistols. The decision WE made not to put unrealistic slide and frame markings is a welcome one, this gives the pistol a sleek but realistic look, the only marking on the pistol is the “.45 ACP” visible on the silver dustcover. This pistol is accurately based on the now extremely famous M1911A1 Government design, which has served in WW2 right through to 1990 when the M9 replaced it in service with the US Armed Forces, however versions of the 1911 design are still used throughout the world today. The controls and improvements of the M1911A1 design have all been accurately recreated by WE. There are two safeties, a grip safety ensuring the pistol can only be fired if it is being held properly and a thumb safety which can be used once the hammer has been cocked. This means that not only is this a very safe and easy to use pistol, but it can be safely carried in a "cocked and locked" state, with the hammer cocked, the trigger safety on, and a round chambered.

Other useful features such as the metal lanyard loop mean that with the use of a lanyard the pistol cannot be lost in the field. Both of the included magazines hold 15 BB’s in a single stack arrangement and are made almost entirely of metal featuring an impressive finish to match the pistol, this also gives a realistic look, weight and finish. They also replicate the size and shape of the standard 7 round .45ACP single stack M1911A1 magazines, which adds to the overall realism.
